Dear Friend,
In the Lord’s prayer Jesus encourages us to pray, “give us this day our daily bread”. This instruction has taken on a whole new meaning since the reality of the recession has affected our retirement and other assets.
Jesus also says to ask God to “deliver us from evil.” At this time in our history, I am concerned as never before with the life of the unborn child and the right of parents to raise their children. EviI has one source, but it takes on many forms. In Exodus it was Pharaoh trying to eliminate the male children of Israel. In Matthew it was Herod killing the young children. While our enemy has always desired to steal, kill, and destroy, the vehicles he is using for this renewed attack on life and liberty are FOCA and UNCRC.
FOCA stands for the Freedom of Choice Act. President Obama made a promise to planned parenthood that the first thing he would do as president is sign this act. FOCA would take away every restriction on abortion nationwide. I have signed the petition to fight the Freedom of Choice Act. I hope you will as well. If you would like more information go to http://www.FightFOCA.com. Signing a petition is a good first step. And so is prayer. I have also recommitted myself to ask God to deliver us from this evil.
UNCRC represents the U. N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, which made headlines under the Clinton administration. With incoming Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as a strong proponent, there will be a renewed push for the U. S. to ratify this international treaty. While the treaty appears harmless it seems capable of attacking the very core of the child-parent relationship. In order to be proactive I have chosen to support parental rights at http://www.parentalrights.org/.
I have never sent out an email to all on my list until today. It is about timing. We now have a new president with a new government. And we know that the first 100 days of a presidency set the stage for the course of the next four years of an administration. These two items, which are high on his agenda, will have greater and more far reaching ramifications than health care and economic bailouts.
I am writing to you today to gird your loins and prepare to withstand these attacks in these critical first 100 days. We need to present a united and committed front to contest these attempts to kill and destroy. The battle for life affects not only the unborn, but individuals with a disability, and our aged population. The family is the basic building block of our churches and communities. Together they form the fabric of our culture. God created life and He designed the family. May God give us renewed strength to fight and stand strong for the sanctity of life and the institution of the family.
Hebrews 10:39 – But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
1 Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Standing in Faith,
Steve
P.S.: Since I wrote this letter a few days ago, Obama’s first act has been to reverse the Mexico City Policy which had prohibited grantees of the U.S. funding from performing abortions or promoting abortions. http://www.worldmag.com/webextra/14939

Dear Steve,
It is such a pleasure to use your Math-U-See curriculum for my homeschooled children! It is that much more of a joy to log onto your family website and see you doing something to educate those around you about the attacks on our families! I, too, have acted on FOCA and have been educating people around me on all of our new president’s plans for abortion. It is wonderful to find that the creator of our favorite math program is also such a strong Christian who is willing to be a voice in these troubled times.
Thank you for all you do.
Cordially,
Angela Varela,
homeschooling mother of 3 in Middle Tennessee

Hi Steve,
It was wonderful hearing you today at the MACHS conference in Winnipeg. I just finished reading about Obama’s policies in regard to promoting abortion from a link in your article. I am not surprised. But what I found disappointing in the grads at the homeschool conference, was the lack of anyone stating that their desire was to have a family, and to promote God’s way of life to their children. Do our children not want to get married, and have children? When I was growing up that is ALL I wanted. This was my teen and early twenties dream! In our Canadian public schools, I know that family and children are at the very bottom of the list in any child’s dream. This is what they teach and promote. But in homeschool children…I expected to have more of a “I want family” mentality. What is happening? Are evil messages from Satan getting to our children? Do our children no longer want to get married and have children? We only have one child, who is now 12 years old. My husband will freely admit that we only have ONE child because he was convinced from his parents and public schools that children were a hardship, and not a blessing. Are homeschool children taught this same message? I don’t think so. But I do think that the social culture we live in will still give them that message. Churches will applaud good works and missions, but the choice to get married and raise children is not applauded at all. We need families, and we need bigger families. But instead, we delay having children till it is too late. It is too late for my husband and I to have more children. But for those who are able to have more children I wish they would, and that we could support them in that decision. And abortion, well that should never be a choice!
But thanks for coming to our homeschool conference. And I just want to say, thanks for NOT promoting your business in the business of promoting God. God should always be first. I may not be stating my point clearly, but I hope you know what I mean.

Hello,
I found this site through an internet search and just wanted to add a little further information on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. I am serving as the Tennessee Director for Parental Rights.Org which is educating American Parents on the dangers of this treaty. For a deeper, yet straightforward introduction to this treaty and the worldview behind it, go to my blog parentalrightstn.blogspot.com.
Sincerely,
Eric Potter MD
